Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password, which is stored as a hash rather than readable text. You can add a home city and state, phone number, bio, profile photo, and privacy setting. We store activity you choose to create, including posts, videos, captions, comments, likes, follows, messages, groups, outing details and requests, reports, and directory submissions. We also receive basic technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as IP addresses in rate-limit checks and error details submitted by the app.
How we use information
We use this information to provide accounts and profiles, show directory and community content, help members find people and places, coordinate outings, deliver messages and notifications, review reports and submissions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve the service. A phone number is used for outing coordination and is shown only in the limited in-app contexts described when you provide it.
Who can see it
Your public profile and public content can be seen by other visitors or members. Private-profile and private-outing controls limit some in-app visibility, but anything you share with another person can be copied by that person. Direct messages and nonpublic account information are not public directory listings. Club contact details come from directory research or submissions and may link to third-party websites.
Service providers
We use service providers to run the site: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and media storage), Resend (password-reset and notification email), OpenStreetMap and Nominatim (maps and geocoding), and Anthropic (the AI site assistant - your assistant questions are sent to Anthropic to generate answers, so do not share anything sensitive with it). We also measure site use when analytics is enabled. Those providers process information for their services. We do not currently run advertising or sell personal information. If those practices change, this policy should be updated before the change.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as needed to operate, secure, and comply with obligations for the service. You can edit profile details and permanently delete your account from Account settings. Account deletion removes the account and associated app records according to the service's database rules. Backup copies may remain for a limited period until routine backup expiration.
Security
We use access controls, secure cookies, encrypted connections, hashed passwords, private storage where appropriate, and abuse limits. No online service can promise absolute security. Use a unique password and report suspected misuse promptly.
Children and changes
The service is not intended for children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above will show the latest version, and material changes should be communicated in the app.
